ROI and business case builder

Build the machine vision business case your board will approve

Put real numbers against inspection labour, escaped defects, scrap, throughput and compliance. See your payback live as you type, then download a board-ready business case with every assumption shown and a cautious case already worked out.

Takes about five minutes. Your figures stay in your browser until you ask for the PDF.

01

Inspection labour

People checking parts by eye today. Automated inspection frees this time for higher value work or avoids a hire as volumes grow.

02

Escaped defects

Faulty parts that reach your customer. Count everything an escape costs you, from credit notes and returns to line stop charges, sorting at the customer site and admin time.

03

Scrap and rework

Catching a fault at the first station instead of the last means less added value thrown away and faster root cause fixes upstream.

04

Throughput

If manual checks slow the line or hold product in quarantine, inspecting at line speed releases extra sellable output. Leave the uplift at zero if this does not apply.

05

Quality compliance

Manual inspection records, audit preparation, customer charge backs and traceability queries. An automated system logs every image and result, so evidence is there when an auditor or customer asks.

06

Investment

Not sure what a system costs? Use a working estimate now and firm it up after a feasibility study.

Take a business case to your next budget meeting

A three page PDF built from your numbers:

  • An executive summary with payback, ROI and NPV.
  • The full working for each saving, with every assumption printed beside it.
  • A cautious case, so you have the answer before finance asks.
  • A short checklist of what boards look for before they sign.

Method

How the numbers are worked out

Labour

Inspectors per shift times shifts times loaded cost gives today's inspection cost. The saving is the share of that time the system takes over.

Escapes

Parts per year times the escape rate in parts per million gives escapes per year. Times the cost of each one gives the annual cost, and the saving is the reduction you expect.

Scrap, throughput and compliance

Each uses your annual cost or margin and the reduction or uplift you enter.

Payback

Total investment divided by net annual saving after support costs. Three year ROI is net benefit over three years divided by the investment. NPV discounts five years of savings at your chosen rate.

Cautious case

Every saving cut to 60 percent and the investment raised by 15 percent. If the project still pays back on those figures it is a strong case.

A guide, not a quote

These are planning figures from your own assumptions. A feasibility study on your real parts turns them into a firm proposal.
